Going to start this off with knowing that this is old news. It is to me and Demoraliser, but I feel I need to talk about it as I have never given permission to or even been asked about RevoltTV using this photograph that I took last year.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the fact that someone such as Diddy thinks that it is good enough to use in advertising, or to even use it in a personal post on his Instagram but I do not condone the use of peoples photographs when they have not been asked. As Diddy is such a music mogul I would expect him to want to support young people, like myself in such a competitive industry and to not steal images for his, or any companies he owns gain.
This is the only place I have seen him post the picture and I don’t know if more people out there have taken any of my other work. I love music and being able to have the privilege to go to these shows and take photographs is amazing. I upload them in confidence without watermarks, but that it clearly something that I can not do anymore.
There aren’t a lot of people that make money off of music photography that I can name, my life isn’t about making money, but I do one day hope that I can make enough to have this as a career/ full time job.
My other plans right now include that I would like to finish up university, I am planning to go do my PGCE at Teeside, and then hopefully work in a college or university here in England, maybe even abroad one day. My big dreams are far fetched for the minute but I am looking at many different options at this moment in time and am looking to expand everything that I do.
If you have read this, thank you for taking the time out to do so. Just seeing this photograph again has really frustrated me as I do not know what I can do about it, if anyone has any information on anything I may be able to do, please let me know.
